Onboarding Checklist
1. Invite your team
Sourcing works best when it’s collaborative - between recruiters, account managers, and hiring teams. TalentRiver lets everyone contribute to building great candidate pipelines and sharing insights in one place.
To get started, make sure your whole team has access to TalentRiver.
Go to Company Settings (top right corner) ➡️ Members
Invite your teammates by email so you can source, review, and move candidates together.
Pro tip:
Invite your whole team early. Collaboration is key - by working together your team can co-coordinate searches, review candidates together, and maintain a shared pipeline.
Plus, if someone is out of office, colleagues can step in to respond to messages, keeping conversations moving without delays.
2. Connect your LinkedIn account
Link your LinkedIn to TalentRiver so you can instantly connect, message, and engage candidates - all without leaving the platform.

Pro tip:
By making sure the whole team is connected to their LinkedIn accounts you will take your collaboration to the next level! Your team can now leverage each other’s existing connections and past interactions with candidates, avoid overlaps in outreach, and ensure a seamless candidate experience.
Plus, if someone is out of office, colleagues can step in to respond to messages, keeping conversations moving smoothly without delays.
3. Create your first search
Turn one of your job ads in your ATS into a TalentRiver search and start seeing qualified candidates instantly.
Once your search is live, explore how TalentRiver helps you refine and organize results:
Filter your criteria - adjust filters on both candidate and company level to see how matches evolve toward your ideal profile.
Screen & review candidates - go through profiles to understand how TalentRiver structures data and match insights.
Save promising candidates - shortlist profiles that fit well with your search by clicking on save button in the candidate profile card.
Skip irrelevant profiles - skip candidates who don’t match by clicking the skip button so they won’t appear in this search again.
Send to your ATS - push your saved candidates directly into the ATS to move them forward in your process.

4. Start an outreach
Once you’ve identified promising candidates, it’s time to reach out and start building relationships. TalentRiver makes it easy to connect and engage directly from the platform.
Send LinkedIn connection requests - connect with your candidates to grow your network.
Send InMail messages - craft and send one personalized InMail (or a follow-up message after a connection request been accepted) to start a real conversation.
Automate your outreach with Smart Sequences - reach more candidates right away without spending to much manually effort.
Track your engagement - see which candidates respond and keep all communication organized within TalentRiver.
Get access to personal emails and phone numbers - if it gets hard to reach a specific candidate over LinkedIn, TalentRiver might have found an email or phone number to the candidate, giving you leverage through other communication channels.

5. Export your saved candidates
Need to share or analyze candidates outside TalentRiver? Use the export function to quickly create reports, presentations, or spreadsheets - directly from any tab or view.
Exports make it easy to share insights, prepare reports, and present candidate shortlists - all without leaving TalentRiver.

Pro tip:
Exporting candidates allows you to share shortlists with stakeholders outside your recruiting team, such as management, investors, board members or customers (if you are a recruiting firm). Formats like XLS, DOCX, and PPTX ensure compatibility for presentations, reports, and further analysis, streamlining collaboration beyond your immediate team.
